Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy co-sponsored a bill that will prevent TARP bailout recipients from providing financial assistance to ACORN, as well as require that they report to Congress any direct or indirect assistance that they have provided ACORN or any ACORN affiliate within the last 12 months.

Joining Congressman McCarthy in this bipartisan vote were 345 Members of Congress (172 Democratic Members and 173 Republican Members). The defunding amendment that passed today was attached to H.R.
