Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy co-sponsored a bill that will prevent TARP bailout recipients from providing financial assistance to ACORN, as well as require that they report to Congress any direct or indirect assistance that they have provided ACORN or any ACORN affiliate within the last 12 months.
Atascadero, CA – Congressman Kevin McCarthy will hold an Academy Forum for students in the 22nd Congressional District who are interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy. The forum will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Atascadero Unified School District Board Chambers, located at 5601 West Mall in Atascadero.
Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy joined his House colleagues in voting to defund the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Joining Congressman McCarthy in this bipartisan vote were 345 Members of Congress (172 Democratic Members and 173 Republican Members). The defunding amendment that passed today was attached to H.R.
Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy joined his House colleagues in cosponsoring legislation to defund the disgraced Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), the Defund ACORN Act. The legislation introduced today by Republican Leader John Boehner (OH) would end all taxpayer funding of ACORN.
