Welcoming Honor Flight Kern County Vietnam Veterans to Washington
For nearly two years, Honor Flight Kern County remained grounded as our country navigated the early stages of COVID-19.
But I am glad to report that for the second time in less than a month, I was able to welcome a group of veterans to Washington, D.C. to see THEIR Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
It is because of these brave men and women that the United States remains a symbol of hope and democracy for people around the world. I was privileged to personally thank them for their heroism and provide these veterans with special Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins to show our country’s gratitude for their service.
More than 100 veterans who defended our freedoms in the Vietnam War participated in the Honor Flight. The lessons they can teach us are infinite – they are each part of a generation that values the dignity of hard work, has a profound love of country, and whose bravery is boundless.
If you have the opportunity today, I encourage you to thank a veteran
