Summer Interns Energize Capitol Hill
Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy released the following statement thanking his interns for their assistance this summer.
"As we enter the fall season, I would like to take a brief look back and thank our interns for their invaluable assistance in my office during the 2021 Summer Internship Program. Each student brought a unique talent and perspective, infusing energy and enthusiasm in carrying out their duties on behalf of constituents and our district. I trust their experiences on Capitol Hill proved to be both engaging and educational – this was a truly exceptional group!"
The congressional internship program is designed to provide college-aged students with an understanding of the core functions of a congressional office. Components of the internship include constituent relations, legislative tasks, administrative duties, and observing the legislative process firsthand by attending committee meetings, hearings, and a variety of lecture series.
