McCarthy Statement on the Passing of Sharon Runner

Washington, DC – Congressman Kevin McCarthy released the following statement on the passing of State Senator Sharon Runner:

“My heart breaks to hear of the passing of my friend Sharon Runner. Sharon and I were seatmates in the Assembly and I saw firsthand her devotion to serving the Antelope Valley. But Sharon was more than just a seatmate. Sharon was like a sister to me and I will always cherish our times together. Sharon was a devoted wife to her husband George and mother to her children Micah and Rebekah. Their family represented the best of our community and Judy and I are praying for the Runners during this time of grief. We are all remembered not for our possessions or our words, but rather for who we were and what we did for those around us. Sharon’s legacy is cemented and our community and our state are a better place because of her.”
