McCarthy Statement on Jobs Report

Mar 4, 2011
Press Release

Washington D.C. – Congressman Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) issued the following statement regarding the latest employment figures released by the U.S. Department of Labor:

"While this report is encouraging because it shows people getting back to work, there is still much more work to be done. Over the last two years, Washington hasn't made the decisions necessary to improve the economic environment and improve the lives of our families. We've seen that the massive spending from the stimulus and Obamacare didn't create jobs, and our country is now further in debt.

"House Republicans have already begun fulfilling their promise to right the wrongs of the last Congress. We have passed legislation to bring federal spending back down to 2008 pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels and have repealed the job-crushing health care law. We will continue to work hard to restore the American dream by removing onerous regulations that prevent job creation and finally get spending under control. It is my hope that Senate Democrats and President Obama will work with us in our efforts to bring this nation back to prosperity."
