McCarthy Statement on House Passage of the GOP Budget Resolution

Washington D.C. – Congressman Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement regarding House passage of the GOP Budget Resolution:

Families across the country have had to sit around the kitchen table and make tough decisions about their household budgets. Commonsense would dictate that Congress would do the same thing with the national "household" budget. There were two choices: continue the same Democratic tax, spend, and borrow policies that have been the foundation of our beleaguered economy, or make the tough decisions to balance the budget and reform our tax code to lay the foundation of an era of prosperity for Americans today and for our future generations. With today's passage of the House budget, it is clear: the House chose prosperity. I applaud Chairman Ryan and the entire House Budget Committee for putting forward a responsible budget so that we may begin the great American comeback.
