Kern County Veterans Visit the Capitol
Today, I had the opportunity to welcome heroes from Honor Flight Kern County to the U.S. Capitol.
This group was made up of more than 182 Vietnam War and Korean War Veterans and their escorts, marking it as one of the largest Honor Flights to ever travel from Kern County!
Yesterday, these heroes also visited the Vietnam War Memorial where they honored the memories of the fallen, and brought photographs to commemorate their lives.
I always appreciate the chance to recognize our veterans and thank them for their dedication and commitment to protecting our freedoms. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our nation’s heroes, and I am grateful to Honor Flight Kern County for their efforts to ensure that our veterans can experience the memorials made specifically for them, firsthand.
