Kern County Honor Flight Visits U.S. Capitol
Today, members of Honor Flight Kern County escorted veterans from our district to the U.S. Capitol where they went on a tour with our team.
“We can never fully repay our veterans for their service and dedication to our nation, but one way we can show our gratitude is through the honor flight program,” said Congressman Kevin McCarthy.
“I am grateful to the Honor Flight Network for so graciously celebrating our veterans,” stated McCarthy. “We can all learn important lessons about respect, humility, and a love of country from our service members.”
The twenty-three veterans traveling with Honor Flight Kern County arrived in Washington, D.C. yesterday evening. They toured the U.S. Capitol this morning and will be visiting their respective memorials later this afternoon. Veterans on the Honor Flight served in WWII and the Korean War.
