Foster Children Safety

Washington D.C. - Rep. McCarthy Statement regarding the foster care child who fled his foster home without being stopped due to a problem with state law:

"We must fix the ongoing state problem regarding the safety of foster children, especially those with a history of flight. When I was in the State Assembly, I fought to pass a bill to provide more safeguards and accountability before beginning work as your Congressman. Unfortunately, time ran out. I'm sharing this legislation with our State representatives so they can consider this along with other policy solutions, and will help them in their efforts to reform current law."
