Congressman McCarthy to Hold Service Academy Forum This Saturday

Bakersfield, CA – This Saturday, October 25, 2008, Congressman McCarthy will hold a Service Academy Forum from 2:00 -3:30 p.m. at the Chambers of the Kern County Board of Supervisors in the Kern County Administrative Center, located at 1115 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield. Media is invited to attend. 

What:

Service Academy Forum for students in the 22nd Congressional District who are interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy. Academy Liaison Officers representing the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy will make presentations. Also, Admiral David Dunaway – the Commander of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division at China Lake and 1982 graduate of the Naval Academy – will be the keynote speaker and will share experiences at a Service Academy from both a student and parent’s perspective.
