Congressman McCarthy Introduces Intermediate Space Challenge Resolution

Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy introduced a resolution (H.Res. 411) recognizing the Intermediate Space Challenge in Mojave, California, an annual event that will take place this year on May 15.  The Space Challenge is designed to strengthen grade school students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics career fields.  Joining Congressman McCarthy as original cosponsors were Congressman Buck McKeon (CA-25) and Congressman Jim Costa (CA-20).  Congressman McCarthy issued the following statement:

“The Intermediate Space Challenge is an exciting and challenging opportunity to energize our children’s interest in science and math,” said Congressman McCarthy. “The Mojave Space Port provides an ideal setting of innovation and creativity that has stretched the limits of what many thought was possible. Our children are our country’s future, and capturing their imagination in math, science, and technology can inspire them to be the next generation of technological pioneers.”
