Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy is pleased to announce that President Bush signed this year’s Department of Defense funding bill into law. The funding bill included $2.6 million that McCarthy requested for national security projects at Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division at China Lake:
More must be done to secure our borders. The U.S. Constitution specifically empowers Congress with the authority “to establish a uniform rule of naturalization…throughout the United States.” Congress cannot faithfully execute this constitutional responsibility if individuals are blatantly entering the U.S. illegally showing little respect for our laws.

It is important to ensure the safety of motorists using our roads and highways, and all trucks hauling cargo in the United States must meet current U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and other safety regulations.
This resolution expresses Congress’ opposition to the United States entering in a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.
I am concerned about both the GPO and the WEP and believe that legislation or administrative action is necessary to address both issues.
